NEENAH — At least four buses will leave the Fox River Valley tomorrow morning, Feb. 18, 2016, for Madison as part of the Un Dia sin Latinos, or a Day without Latinos.

The movement was unheard of a little more than a week ago outside the Latino community, but the protest has grown quickly, spurred on by two bills seen as anti-Latino.

Latinos have been mobilized after the Assembly has passed both AB450 (the Anti-Sanctuary Cities bill) and AB723 (prohibiting local IDs) and the Senate passed their version of the bill prohibiting local IDs.

ESTHER-Fox Valley is urging more people to go to Madison. Since undocumented people cannot possess drivers licenses in Wisconsin they are relying on busses and our demand has surpassed the supply of local school buses.

ESTHER-Fox Valley is an interfaith social justice organization based in Neenah.

Organizers are expecting more than 2,000 to show up at the Capitol to protest.
