Kaukauna Community News
KAUKAUNA — The presidential election might be making headlines, but Outagamie County voters who head to the polls for the primary will focus on offices closer to home.
Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 for primary voting. Voters must present a voter ID. For more information about voter ID, go online to bringitwisconsin.gov.
All Kaukauna voters will cast their ballot on election day at the Municipal Services Building, 201 W. Second St., according to Kaukauna City Clerk Susan Duda.
Wisconsin voters will narrow the field of candidates for Wisconsin Supreme Court justice from three to two. That is the only race on Tuesday’s ballot. The top two advance to the April 5 election.
The high court candidates are:
• Rebecca Bradley of Milwaukee, a former Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge and Wisconsin Court of Appeals judge who was appointed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court in September after the death of then-Justice Patrick Crooks.
• JoAnne Kloppenburg of Milwaukee, a Wisconsin Court of Appeals judge and a former longtime assistant attorney general for the state.
• Joe Donald of Milwaukee, a longtime Milwaukee County Circuit Court judge.

The clerk’s office is seeking to build a pool of applicants interested in serving as election workers for elections that will occur this year and beyond.
This is a unique way to serve your community, meet your neighbors and become involved in the democratic process.
Election workers receive a stipend for serving and are responsible for opening the polls, registering voters on election day, issuing ballots, maintaining a safe and secure polling site, reporting accurate results after the polls close and offering general voter assistance, all in accordance with state and federal laws.
