Still no sign of missing Combined Locks man

COMBINED LOCKS — There is no new news Saturday in the search for a missing Combined Locks man, the Fox Valley Metro Police told us a short time ago.

Eugene R Schmelzer, 61, left home shortly after 1 a.m. early Thursday morning, Jan. 28, 2016 and hasn’t been heard from since, police say.

Police said an extensive search using K9 teams was conducted throughout the area around his home, local parks, river banks, as well as areas in Kimberly.

Police are actively following up on any leads or possible sightings of Schmelzer.

They expect t have an updated release with more information available to the public early this coming week.

Schmelzer was last seen wearing glasses, black jeans, work boots and a reflective safety type jacket.

He is described as 5’8”, 150 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.

It is unknown where Schmelzer may have walked to or who he would be with.

Police have checked the immediate area but were unable to locate him.

If Schmelzer is located or if anyone has information on Schmelzer’s whereabouts, they are asked to contact the Fox Valley Metro Police Department.

There is no indication of foul play.
