UPDATE — A suspect has been arrested in the vehicle thefts and car chase Wednesday through Kaukauna, according to a post on the Marion Police Department Facebook page.
Thomas Holtz, the suspect in the case, has been taken into custody and is currently incarcerated in the Winnebago County Jail.
KAUKAUNA COMMUNITY NEWS — Authorities are seeking a car thief who led police on a chase through Kaukauna Thursday night, ditched the stolen car they were driving, then stole another vehicle in Kaukauna.
Police believe Thomas Holtz, 46, of Appleton was involved in the car thefts and have posted a notice on Facebook.
Police in Marion, Wisconsin, located west of Shawano, said an unlocked vehicle that had the keys in it was stolen overnight Jan. 20, 2016 on the south side of Marion.
The vehicle was located in Kaukauna and police gave chase, but terminated due to reckless driving.
The vehicle was recovered a short time later in Kaukauna, however another vehicle was stolen, according to police.
Thursday morning, the stolen vehicle and trailer from Kaukauna were in Marion and police say it committed a gas drive off.
The suspect was identified as Holtz, according to the Marion Police Facebook page.
Holtz is last known to be driving an older ford pickup silver in color with a temp plate in the rear window.
